French classes for adults
The curriculum for adults covers all the basics, starting with the “greetings”, the calendar, the numbers, the time, destinations and their verbs, followed by foods, body parts, clothing, transportation, sports, etc. It is also presented by theme to make the retention greater.
NaperFrench is quick to teach you how to express yourself in the present, future and past tense. It is then followed by other tenses used in the French language.
NaperFrench provide worksheets at each class and for the next session. At the beginning of each French lesson is dedicated to go over what should be mastered so the student can keep on learning and building his knowledge working towards conversation.
Everything learned in class is put to use through verbal exercises, reviewed later and used again in conversation. Repetition is the key to success! Anne’s French class is your class and she make sure you speak just as much as me by asking questions, by using what you’ve learned and practicing with a native!
Each adult must embrace the learning experience as if they were still young learners unable to read but using their memory through a marriage of visuals, verbalization and repetition.
“I take pride in being a French tutor and teacher and believe that with a little bit of work and a lot of passion, you will quickly learn French and able to engage conversation!” Anne C.
How long are the classes?
Classes for adults are typically one hour but can also be customized to the student’s need and be one and a half hour long.
How often are the classes?
Classes are every week, typically once per week (twice for some students).
Do students get homework?
Absolutely! I give worksheets every week to reinforce the lesson and practice what has been learned.
Do you teach group classes?
No, I focus on private lessons (1 on 1) as most students are at a different level, this assures
better results and more opportunities to speak throughout the lesson! I sometimes start a group of two (couples/friends) together but after more than 18 years of teaching I can say that we all learn at a different pace.
Should the student buy a text book?
I have written and built my own French method with different resources so there is no need tombuy a French textbook as lessons will be given in class as well as exercises. A verb book (for conjugation) is always a good idea!
Which books do you use to teach?
I have written and built my own French method with different resources so there is no need to buy a French textbook as lessons will be given in class as well as exercises. A verb book (for conjugation) is always a good idea!
